Thought Leader Liaisons (TLL)
The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) at Madrigal Pharmaceuticals plays a crucial role as an individual contributor within the TLL Team. This position focuses on cultivating and fostering relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in academic and clinical medicine, with a specific emphasis on supporting the launch of Resmetirom, the groundbreaking therapy for Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH). Reporting to the Director of Thought Leader Liaisons, the TLL will actively contribute to the execution of brand and disease-state strategies in KOL Engagement/Advocacy, Brand/Market Insights, and Commercial HCP Speaker Bureau.
As with all employees, Thought Leader Liaisons are fully accountable for compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of Madrigal activities.
Position Responsibilities:
As a key member of the TLL Team, the Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) - Individual Contributor will be responsible for the following objectives:
- Leverage TL advocacy in support of business needs (e.g. consultants, speaker/faculty, payor initiatives, institutional formularies/protocols, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Director to contribute to the cultivation of thought leaders in academic and clinical medicine at local, regional, and national levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to cultivate relationships with key local/regional associations/groups/institutions, and patient advocacy organizations.
- Assist in regional commercial planning in coordination with the aligned RBD.
- Prioritize activities based on Account/Customer critical success factors aligned with brand strategic imperatives.
- Work collaboratively with the Director to implement individualized Region and development plans.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director in identifying and recruiting appropriate HCP advisors which could include Academic Influencers, Advisers, HCPs involved in Clinical Trials, and Local Influencers, aligned with Resmetirom brand marketing needs.
- Participate in quarterly feedback sessions with targeted KOLs and stakeholders, capturing insights and aligning with strategic imperatives.
- Contribute insights to cross-functional brand teams regarding messaging and program execution.
- Share competitive intelligence gained through interactions to inform brand strategy.
- Support the planning and execution of annual speaker training meetings in collaboration with the HCP Marketing Team.
- Connect Thought Leaders with other relevant parts of the organization (e.g., Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, etc.) to execute against Peer-to-Peer strategies and uncover any unmet needs, while maintaining compliance with guidelines on appropriate medical/commercial collaborations.
Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate for the Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) - Individual Contributor role should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- BA/BS Degree or higher in business, marketing, or life sciences.
- 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or hospital environments.
- 2+ years of previous experience in TLL role preferred.
- 2+ years of experience working with GI/Hepatology KOLs preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Experience in supporting the launch of specialty products is a plus.
- Ability to travel as needed for role responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills, adapting to various professional and educational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and address problems systematically.
- Collaborative, responsive, considerate, flexible, and personable.
- Understanding and support of compliance with OIG and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with the economics of health care at both private and public levels of payment and delivery.
- A valid driver’s license may be required based on role responsibilities.
Compensation:
Base salary is determined by several factors that include, but are not limited to, a successful candidate's qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits, which include flexible paid time off (PTO), medical, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance.
