Senior Director, Commercial Data Strategy & Management
Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company pursuing novel therapeutics for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as metabolic dysfunction associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Our first therapy, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), was granted accelerated approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of adults with NASH with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis (consistent with stages F2 to F3 fibrosis) and is being studied in a Phase 3 trial for the treatment of NASH with compensated cirrhosis.
Role Overview:
Senior Director, Commercial Data Strategy & Management will oversee the strategic direction and daily operations of our data management systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role will lead the DW & Reporting, Data Management, and BI teams and be responsible for the commercial data warehouse, MDM, Data Aggregation, and BI. As a key leader within the Data Strategy and Analytics (DS&A) function, this role will support the Executive Director of DS&A in enhancing our data management capabilities globally.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the commercial data warehouse, master data management (MDM), data aggregation, and business intelligence (BI) platforms.
- Partner with external vendors across Marketing, Trade, Market Access, patient service, etc, to ensure a fully integrated and robust data ecosystem
- Support the build-out of a fully orchestrated omnichannel orchestration engine
- Partner with the Director of Analytics to build out and maintain a commercial analytics platform supporting HQ, Market Access, Marketing, Trade, and patient services.
- Lead a team responsible for the development and maintenance of data management processes, ensuring compliance with all US and Ex-us regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement master data management strategies, improving data consistency across systems.
- Support the ED of Data Strategy and Analytics in maintaining the 3-year data strategy to ensure continuous evolution towards our goal of building a best-in-class data mgmt. function.
- Identify opportunities to optimize data processes and enhance data quality, while ensuring an interconnected data ecosystem globally.
- Partner with IT to ensure necessary commercial data is loaded in corporate data lake in support of key AI initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on data management and analytics.
- Proven experience in data management, analytics, or a related field, with a focus on strategic leadership.
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality
- Strong understanding of Global healthcare data privacy laws (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
- Expert in SQL, Python, relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and data modeling
- Experience with CRM systems and data aggregation tools to support sales and marketing initiatives.
- Experience with Veeva suite of products (Nitro, network, Myinsights and Align) preferred
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and ETL processes.
- Deep expertise in data architecture concepts, data modeling, and cloud data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Experience with Veeva Nitro a plus
Base salary is determined by several factors that include, but are not limited to, a successful candidate's qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands.
