Thought Leader Liaison, Field Development Manager
Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company pursuing novel therapeutics for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as metabolic dysfunction associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Our first therapy, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), was granted accelerated approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of adults with NASH with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis (consistent with stages F2 to F3 fibrosis) and is being studied in a Phase 3 trial for the treatment of NASH with compensated cirrhosis.

Thought Leader Liaison, Field Development Manager
The ideal TLL Field Development manager candidate is a highly motivated and dynamic individual that exhibits exemplary clinical and business acumen and exceptional collaborative and organizational skills. The successful candidate has a strong track record of award-winning success in a Thought Leader Liaison role, with recognition for both the “what” and the “how.” The individual should have previously been identified as a high potential candidate for leadership development and positions of higher responsibility at the Regional and/or Zone Leadership level. Position Responsibilities:
- The Field Development Manager will be responsible for coverage of any TLL territories and/or EDTLLs due to a vacancy or extended leave.
- Recognize local market trends and proactively propose innovative plans and solutions to inform and enhance launch execution, business strategies, and TLL activities.
- Assist in strategic business planning process and continually assess leading indicators and execution to gather insights and develop forward-thinking contingency plans
- Ensure continued alignment between the Thought Leader insights generated and organizational goals/brand strategy
- Support training team and lead initiatives to further the clinical expertise, of the Thought Leader Liaison team. Also take a lead role in TLL new hire training, ongoing TLL professional development, and TLL development track for internal employees
- Help create and adjust MBOs for the TLL team annually or as needed
- Help define and analyze performance metrics (KPIs) for the TLL team
- Participate in and contribute to TLL talent reviews to include calibrations and merit cycle
- Participate in interview and onboarding process for all new hires
- Work with DTLLs to identify opportunities to perform field rides and offer coaching to TLL team in effort to enhance leadership development
- Participate in TLL leadership discussions and decisions related to the TLL team’s future direction
- Manage speaker bureau for national team to include any needs related to nomination, tiering, contracting, and program management
- Congress point person to streamline process, collaborate cross-functionally, partner with outside vendors and help execute successful EL engagements
- Partner with marketing for streamlined communication around the recruitment and execution of commercial Advisory Boards
- Model and lead collaboration with internal teams to optimize synergy and to achieve and track progress against collective cross-functional goals
- Be a strategic thought partner with other cross-functional teams: sales, marketing, market access, patient services, etc.
- Organize and execute ongoing strategic projects and meeting cadences as appropriate
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, life sciences, etc.) required
- Proven track record in a Thought Leader Liaison or comparable field Marketing role, coupled with leadership attributes and demonstrated leadership in both the “what” and the “how”
- Participation and successful completion of formal leadership development programs required
- Willingness to travel as needed for coverage of open territories or regions, meetings, home office presence and training initiatives
- Demonstrated readiness for leadership role; exhibiting attributes essential for first-line management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively
- Proficiency in insights generation, showcasing a keen understanding of the specialty pharmaceutical landscape, particularly with Thought Leaders
- Analytics capabilities to interpret KOL insights, market trends, and effectively communicate actionable next steps
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Preferred experience in the gastrointestinal (GI) specialty pharmaceutical sector
- Preferred completion of prior leadership development assessment and program
Base salary is determined by several factors that include, but are not limited to, a successful candidate's qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands.
