About Madrigal:
Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company pursuing novel therapeutics for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as metabolic dysfunction associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Our first therapy, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), was granted accelerated approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of adults with NASH with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis (consistent with stages F2 to F3 fibrosis) and is being studied in a Phase 3 trial for the treatment of NASH with compensated cirrhosis.

Role Overview:
Director of Market Access Analytics
The Director of Market Access Analytics will be a critical leader in driving data-driven decision-making within the Market Access function. This individual will leverage advanced analytics, data science methodologies, and deep healthcare business acumen to shape market access strategies that optimize payer engagement, reimbursement, pricing, and patient access. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in U.S. healthcare dynamics, payer behavior, and pharmaceutical analytics, with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. 

Position Responsibilities: 
Market Access Insights & Strategy Development
  • Lead the development and execution of analytics-driven strategies to enhance payer engagement, reimbursement optimization, and contracting decisions. 
  • Conduct dispense data analysis to identify market dynamics, payer policies, and their impact on brand performance. 
  • Evaluate utilization management, tiering, and payer medical policies to assess access barriers and forecast impact on treatment flow. 
  • Design and refine analytics frameworks to support formulary positioning, payer negotiations, and gross-to-net (GTN) investment. 
  • Develop predictive models to assess the impact of payer policies, pricing strategies, and access restrictions on product adoption and performance. 
  • Design and implement integrated analytics which inform market access and sales pull-through strategies and tactics for National Accounts
Advanced Data Analytics & Performance Monitoring
  • Build and maintain robust analytics tools and dashboards to track key payer, PBM, and provider network performance indicators. 
  • Develop forecasting models to simulate the effects of pricing changes, contract structures, and reimbursement policies on overall market access. 
  • Standardize claims analysis methodologies and enhance data management processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and scalability. 
  • Monitor and assess the impact of formulary positions on demand generation and conversion, supporting Market Access contracting initiatives. 
  • Analyze key metrics and market access customer engagement data to proactively drive Market Access performances and improve investment decisions
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Market Access leadership, translating analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations. 
  • Partner closely with internal teams, including Forecasting, Market Research, Data Strategy, and Commercial Operations, to drive a unified analytics approach. 
  • Align analytical insights with broader business strategy, ensuring data-driven decision-making informs payer engagement and pricing strategies. 
  • Work cross-functionally to enhance analytics capabilities, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and integration. 
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PhD) is preferred. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in market access analytics, healthcare analytics, or pharmaceutical consulting**, with a strong focus on **payer strategy, pricing, and reimbursement. 
  • Healthcare & Market Access Expertise
  • Deep understanding of U.S. healthcare reimbursement systems, payer landscapes, and formulary decision-making. 
  • Expertise in analyzing large healthcare datasets (e.g., claims data, HUB data, syndicated sources). 
  • Experience with formulary data, payer contracting processes, and gross-to-net (GTN) modeling. 
Technical & Analytical Skills:
  • Proven ability to develop predictive models and apply machine learning techniques to market access challenges. 
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other advanced analytics tools. 
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). 
Leadership & Business Acumen:
  • Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate complex insights to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Experience managing analytics vendors and external data sources to enhance insights generation. 
  • Launch experience preferred.

Compensation:
Base salary is determined by several factors that include, but are not limited to, a successful candidate's qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits, which include flexible paid time off (PTO), medical, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance.
